Locations

The Locations section is located under the Assets tab. The types of locations are Campuses, Buildings, Floors, Spaces, and Zones. Selecting an item from the list on the left opens its detail view on the right, showing other related locations, equipment, attributes, historical activity, and any related issues, checklists, or tests.

Location information follows the COBie data format and can be imported from BIM models and exported back to BIM models using these spreadsheets. However, CxAlloy TQ does not require each project to strictly follow this method. All location information is optional.

To add a new location, click Add New in the dropdown list and select whether it is a Campus, Building, Floor, Space or Zone. In the pop-up box, you can also enter a description of the location; however, it is not required. When creating a new Building, you can specify the Campus it is in; when creating a new Floor or Zone, you can specify the Building it is in; when creating a new Space, you can specify the Floor and Zones it is in. Click Add to create a new location.

You can add multiple child items to the selected location by clicking Manage under the appropriate header. When a Campus is selected, you can manage its Buildings; when a Building is selected, you can manage its Zones or Floors; when a Floor or Zone is selected, you can manage its Spaces; when a Space is selected, you can manage its Equipment.

After clicking Manage, select the appropriate items from the left and click Add Selected. Click Save Connections to save your updates.
