What are areas served?

In cases where an asset is located in a given space, but services other locations, you can add location's to an equipment's Areas Served section to define those relationships.

Areas Served Section

When viewing a piece of equipment, the Areas Served Section can be found beneath the equipment's description.

Section Name — This area shows the total number of locations in an equipment's Areas Served location.

Collapse/Expand Arrow — Click this icon to expand and collapse the Areas Served Section.

Add Area Served Button — Press this button to add a location to the Areas Served Section. See Add Area Served for more details.

Areas Served List — This area lists an equipment's areas served, including its Type and Name. Click a name to view that location.

Delete Button — Press this button to remove a location from the Areas Served Section.

Add Area Served

This is the menu that opens when you press the Add Area Served Button in an equipment's Areas Served section..

Exit Button — Press this button to exit the Add Area Served menu without saving a new location.

Location Search Bar and Drop Down — Select a location to add from the drop down menu, or search for a location to add by typing in its name.

Add New Location Button — If you would like to add an area served that does not yet exist, you can press this button to add a new location to the project.

Add Area Served Button — Press this button to confirm the chosen location as an area served.

Batch Actions

When you select equipment from the Equipment Page, you can simultaneously add or remove locations from multiple pieces of equipment by selecting Add or Remove from the Areas Served dropdown menu. See  Batch Add Area Served and Batch Remove Areas Served for more details.

Batch Add Area Served

Exit Button — Press this button to exit the Add Area Served menu.

Location Search Bar and Drop Down — Select a location to add from the drop down menu, or search for a location to add by typing in its name.

Add New Location Button — If you would like to add an area served that does not yet exist, press this button to add a new location to the project.

Areas Served List — This area lists all locations that the selected pieces of equipment serve, displaying each location's Type, Name, and how many of the selected pieces of equipment currently serve each location.

Add Area Served Button — Press this button to add the chosen location to the areas served for all of the selected equipment.

Batch Remove Areas Served

Exit Button — Press this button to exit the Remove Areas Served menu.

Areas Served List — This area lists all locations that the selected pieces of equipment serve, displaying each location's Type, Name, and how many of the selected pieces of equipment currently serve each location. Use the checkboxes to indicate which locations to remove from the selected pieces of equipment's areas served.
3
Remove Areas Served Button — Press this button to confirm the removal of the chosen locations from the equipments' areas served.
